In France, there is a rail transport modeling club, called “Club de Modélisme Multi-Discipline Escadrille Saint Michel”, that has focused on narrow gauge field railways of East Germany. The four rail modellers Bernard Daillan, Didier Mozer, Michel Valladeau and Jacques Royan have built a model train diorama in 1/43.5 scale depicting an East German landscape with a field railway and a Tatra streetcar tram line.
On the left side of the train diorama is a socialist residential house, as was typical in East Germany. Behind the house is a factory for peat. Directly in front of the factory is a stop for the tram. At fixed intervals, the field railway starts inside the factory, crosses the tram line and runs to the right side of the diorama. In the foreground, a small market square stretches out, where East German cars are parked and a railway crossing is located.
