Once the largest digitally controlled model railway layout in Europe
Before there was the Miniatur Wunderland at Hamburg, in the year 1997 the largest digitally controlled model railroad layout in H0 Scale was presented. In the beginning the model train layout had an exhibition area of 100 square meters. At that time, 800 m catenary, 400 railroad switches and 1,200 m of tracks were used. Today, the railway network grew up to 2,000 m of tracks and 200 square meters exhibition area. The entire system is digitally controlled by two computers; as well as the day and night lighting is controlled automatically. There are 125 trains and rolling stock from different manufacturers, like Marklin, Fleischmann and Roco. In addition to that, there are a big fun fair, a large central station, a great port facility and many details to discover. Enjoy these 134 photos and get inspiration for your own model train layout.
